I visited the Trader Joe's store in the Lowes shopping lot on Rt-1. It sells wide variety of wines; some of them are less than $5 per bottle. Have you tried their wines before?

They are solid - the Charles Shaw (2 Buck Chuck) is a decent table wine that opens up to about a 7 dollar bottle of wine after an hour of breathing. I go through an buy one of everything now and then to try it...

It's really pretty good for what it is. I agree with the previous poster about 2 Buck Chuck, it's good for parties if you don't want to spend a ton of $$, I also keep it on hand for cooking. The Benefactor Cellars Shiraz and the Martellozzo Prosecco are also pretty decent for $5.
