Totally amazing, this was not on the agenda for the recent meeting.

Apparently the township committee is in collusion with the Indivisible Library to get this new building built without public input.

The library was not a vote on Monday and the TC does not need to approve them going out to bid. Soliciting bids is different from contracting.

The memo Mr. Mulligan referred to was done at a TC session, on the agenda, and in public prior to year end 2016. It's all in the meeting notes.

When the bids are open they will likely have another presentation at the TC level as they did with the memo.

It is very clear that the Committee members have totally disregarded the concerns of a huge number of the citizens. They are just rubber stamping this Indivisible Library . Just wait for the future costs that will be borne by the taxpayers as time goes by and it will be too late to escape the burden of "unexpected" costs of maintaining the New Library we do not need---------

Considering the memo Mr. mulligan referenced was approved in open session and no one opposed and since all these threads no one has once gone to a TC meeting to complain it is hard to agree with your position that a majority oppose. If that is true then the majority or even a few of the majority should at least attend a TC meeting and comment at public comment.

The way the public is treated who might disagree with the position of the Committee members is exactly why the attendance at the meetings is so poor; really nonexistent. Any opposition is a waste of time as the decisions are already made behind closed doors before the meeting begins. Over the years many lifelong residents tried to participate but gave up trying. Unless it is a pet project for some group there is no true participation at the public meetings. Maybe someday the public will try to retake the power from a few, who seem to know what is the best way to spend our tax dollars on their pet projects like million dollar ball fields, main street beautification for failing shops, and a library for the elite.
The intimidation by the Indivisible Library gang to get contributions is as bad as it gets and has really harmed the feelings of many in the community.

The meeting notes show only one person showeed up ever to oppose and was thanked by the TC for doing so.

How can anyone comment on the library when important issues are not on the agenda and predetermined in secret and opposition is scorned by the indivisible library. The township committee had refused to have an open special session to discuss the library because they already know it won't be positively supported.

The public can go to any meeting.

The public can attend the annual meeting at the TC where the library presents.

The public could have attended the meeting adopting the memo of understanding.

Plenty pf opportunities. If the library can come in and make a presentation when they want then so can the public.

The arrogance of the township committee and Indivisible library is incredible.

They expect the public to attend every single township committee meeting with the possibility the library may come up as a topic.

The won't include the library as an agenda topic when decisions are to be made.

They will not hold a public meeting for feedback.

They will not accept any feedback unless you sit for multi-hour meetings over months to see if the library is a topic.

What arrogance! Their decision has been made behind closed doors without proper facts. Feedback is not welcome.

This is laughable and a troll.

You don't need to sit in every meeting. Go to any meeting and make a comment. You complain over and over again how the library just shows up and exercises their right to offer comment. But you don't exercise your right to go and speak on the record.

You claim there is nothing on the agenda. The only approval granted was the memo of understanding and that was on the agenda. No one showed and plenty of posters discussed here how it was occurring because it was on the agenda.

This person is just trolling ignore them.

Why isn't this something that can be voted on?

A decision was made many years ago to let the library fundraiser for a new library. The library is also allowed by law independent of the tc to use the tax allotment to build a library.

How do you now tell people who donated that you're voting? For those opposed what happens if the majority want a library? Do they now use tax dollars to fill the gap? Since we don't get high voter turn out in non-major years when do you do a vote on a library?

Lastly if only one person has ever attended a TC meeting to oppose the library then why do a vote?

I could see a vote if people showed up every so often to oppose the library, but only one person has. You don't need to go to every meeting, just one and make a comment.

After the pedestrian was hit a group of moms went to a tc meeting to talk about speeding. It wasn't on the agenda and they spoke with signs going up. The tc listened. Certainly someone opposed to the library could do the same if they really care. In fact most meetings no one is at a tc meeting from what I have seen so you don't even need to worry about being seen.
