Its an honor to have neighbors such as the Cody's here in Cranbury , this is a wonderful tradition in memory of Helen.
================================
CRANBURY PRESS— It was a tragic day that shook the entire community when, in October 2008, Princeton High School student Helene Cody unexpectedly died of a brain aneurysm.
While time has yet to completely heal the wound, Helene’s family, who lives in Cranbury, has found a way to continue the teen’s volunteering legacy.
”It started at Helene’s passing,” said Helene’s mother, Linda Cody. “People made donations in lieu of flowers. So then we started this foundation that we added to and started fundraising for.”
The Helene Cody Foundation was established in January 2009 and has raised approximately $38,000 in support of one cause.
”The mission is to keep inspiring youth to do things for their community,” Ms. Cody said.
Gil and Bert’s Ice Cream kicked off fundraising when it raised $2,000 during last season’s opening day, letting the Cody family serve up the sweet treats as celebrity scoopers.....
