Do we think we should amend the Historic Cranbury Logo to now include a graphic of the warehouse rows and all the affordable housing condos?

David Brainerd labored with the Indians.
Oh, that’s nice.
So, he worked in the fields with them?

Okay, but where is this tribe or Christian converted Native Americans now?
Not in NJ!

Regarding New Jersey’s Native people...

Some were killed by warring tribes, some were killed by European (Dutch and English) colonists and most died of diseases that they were not immune to as a result of trading and interacting with Europeans.

The Brainerd’s made it their mission to help the few remaining Native people, but it was too late and most of the remaining people left to join other more robust tribes out of state. Now you know.

As the other poster stated. The native tribes were already mostly gone by this time. David Brainerd was here around 1740. Sadly, what the tribes in this area were not living as they had 50-100 years prior.

To give an idea of the area part of the Cranbury Inn was in or close to operating at this time.
