This was brought up in another group, why are the streets being swept when a good portion is covered in tree limbs? Couldn't this have been postponed so that our excellent public works crew could finish first?

nah..they dont care they would rather just call them back in a few weeks and raise your taxes to pay for it. They were too busy worrying about buying the Reinhart farm so 5 new homes wouldnt be built. The town moto is no new homes after mine is built.

Fancy new 4 and 5 bedroom homes means more kids in the school. More kids in the school equals higher school taxes. The new town motto is keep the school taxes a low as possible since they just went up 4 cents.

They are sweeping the streets because the current amount of downed leaves are clogging the storm drains and causing localized flooding.

The school budget actually went down. Taxes went up because the tax base is declining.

They added programs back in to the school that they went through the pain of cutting the year prior. If they let the programs stay gone it would have lowered the tax increase as well as the budget would be lower than today.

If they eliminate all the programs, we wouldn't have to pay any taxes at all.

If you don't like it, vote down the budget. If the majority don't agree with you, you're out of luck and perhaps shouldn't live in a community where the school is one of the primary draws for new residents. Last time I checked we passed the budget by one of the larger margins of any Township in the state. Right or wrong, that is the reality.

Just making a comment that the school budget was not entirely due to the tax base decline.

Maybe they reinstated the programs because as a community we value and are willing to pay for an excellent (not good, not adequate) education for our children. That's why the budget passes by such a large margin. If you don't want to be a part of the community with such values, you moved to the wrong town.

Can't you have a discussion without going on the attack? A comment is made about the budget which is true and you attack the post about values and saying the poster shouldn't live here? The poster never even said they opposed the tax increase so calm down.
