With the election around the corner I am trying to gather as much information as I can about both Township Committee candidates. So far I have spoken with Ms. Goetz in person and have received a brochure and a letter. I also checked out her web site today and she seems to touch on a lot of the issues in town. I wanted to compare her stance to Ms. Callahan's, but I can't seem to find anything. There seems to be a lot of talk on this site about non issues like signs but can anyone point me in the direction of where Ms. Callahan clearly states where she stands on the issues? I see she is clearly against town wide garbage removal, but that's not really an issue because all residents are able to vote on that themselves. I am not trying to start a Democrat vs Republican argument. I am an independent who is trying to gather as much information as possible. Please don't talk about Ms. Goetz's signs or Ms. Callahan being in the Tea Party or something like that. To me that is not important. I just want to know where Ms. Callahan stands on issues other than garbage removal.

Thanks

Any information you get on this site will be so biased one way or the other as to be completely worthless. My advice is to call the candidate directly.

I don't want third party information. Just a link to where I can find info. Her web site... facebook... anything really. I didn't get any literature in the mail and was wondering if anyone else had something.

Still not answering my very simple question. I have no problem voting for Ms. Goetz, but I wanted to see where Ms. Callahan stands on issues. Please don't speak for her if you have nothing productive to say. I think I made that clear in my original post.

Thanks!

Your statement seems leading -- like you are trying to imply that Susan has done more to get info out to voters than Susan, along the lines of "please post a link to her website," oh wink wink she doesn't have one right?

I have no idea if Karen has a campaign website -- her kids aren't old enough to make one for her like Susan's. But she's definitely been going door-to-door like Susan. I had a note and brochure left at my door a few days ago. And she attended the candidates night where you were free to go and ask her questions. And she's written at least a couple editorials in the paper and did an interview with them that covered numerous issues. I think both candidates have done a fine job making themselves available and answering questions.

There was no wink wink implied. I know that Ms. Callahan has a web site (http://www.karencallahancranbury.com/), so maybe someone she knows is old enough. I am not saying that she isn't out and campaigning. All that I am saying is that I have personally not spoken to her or received a brochure. I was also unable to attend candidate's night, as I am sure was the same story for most residents. I thought this was a simple request, but I guess not.

What issues? Can you be more specific?

Thanks… Specifically I would like to hear some more about where Ms. Callahan stands in regards to a potential new library, affordable housing, what to do about the dam, and anything that could be done to increase revenues. It sounds like she has a brochure out there that for some reason I didn't get. Is there any place I can view the brochure online? I appreciate the help.

There are articles in the Cranbury Press, one an interview of Ms. Callahan, the other a summary of the debate

Thank you. I am glad at least someone can be helpful and not just automatically try to start an argument. Ms. Callahan should probably put this info on her site so it is easier to find. Not that I distrust these interviews but I usually prefer to hear it straight from the candidate to make sure that they were not misquoted.

It seems a bit strange that none of this information is available directly from Karen's site or Facebook page. Is she relying on two Cranbury Press articles to get her message out? I have to imagine the readership numbers on the paper are pretty low. Also, the two sources of information are the candidate's night and the Press interview, which were basically two things she had to do and not a voluntary release of information. She has a web site with a lot of content, but nothing about issues other than garbage collection... which really is a non issue considering the entire town is able to vote on it. To be fair, the information might be in her brochure, but like a previous commenter I never received one. Is there a scan of it online or something?

Have you actually viewed Karen's website? On the homepage the first issue listed is garbage.

It would probably be best if you contact Karen directly to get the information you are looking for, she has contact info on her website.

I know. The two things that are on her page are garbage collection and Route 130 paving. I appreciate that 130 is getting paved, but the article I read about it today specifically states that it was scheduled before even receiving Karen's petition. So while I appreciate the effort that she put in it sounds like I can't really give her credit for that.

I also specifically said that garbage collection is a non issue for me. It is being put to a vote and I can vote privately, either for or against it. I am more concerned about the issues that I don't personally have a vote on. Basic town wide issues. I appreciate that Karen has a contact page, but I don't understand the point of having a web site and a Facebook page if issues are never addressed. I also don't understand the plan of relying on each voter to either read the Cranbury Press or contact her to find out where she stands on issues. If I had an issue that was more personal to me that would make sense, but not town wide issues.
