Thanks to the TC for another year of hard work and dedication in their efforts to keep our costs down as much as possible. That they squeezed almost $900,000 out of our budget on top of cuts from last year and considering that the vast majority of our expenses are not in our municipal control is truly remarkable work. It appears that all members, across both parties, were in agreement about the cuts and the only major point of disagreement was how much to use of the limited surplus reserve versus a rate adjustment. I appreciate their time and focus on this and certainly don’t envy their hard decisions.
Thank you. |

I agree. It seems that our TC is what we want when i look at other towns and even last year. We have a civil TC where opinions are respected even if there is a different view. It helps us as a town because decisions are made with clear heads.
I read the Patch article. Contrast this year to last year. Mr. Taylor even though he disagreed with the level of increase stated those who voted yes did so because they did what they thought was best to help the town. Last year the budget was a circus and no one could understand anything. The prior mayor felt a tax increase was not necessary which is fair. But instead of voting no and just stating why it became an argument.
Good job TC. |
