We have a three year old. Can anyone recommend a swim instructor or lesson?

Second the Peddie Aquatics in Hightstown.

They offer "Parent and Tot" group lessons:

Children ages 6-36 months are introduced to the water through songs and games. This class provides the opportunity for your child to become confident in a pool environment while in the arms of a trusted parent. An instructor will be
present to assist you in ways to make this first water experience a pleasant one for both parent & child. This class is not intended to teach your child to swim, but to provide a relaxed, fun atmosphere for you and your child to develop a lifelong love of swimming.

My son is having lessons from "Making Waves Swim School". He has weekly 30 minute lessons at the Crowne Plaza indoor pool in Monroe. They also meet to use pools at nearby hotels in East Windsor & Princeton. The instructor has been great so far.

We also had our daughters taken private lessons with the Making Waves Swim School. It's better than group lessons.

We also used Making Waves for our kids for years. The experience varies by kid personality and instructor style. We mostly had success but one of our kids was more resistant and ended up doing better in a more intensive no-nonsense summer class every day of the week than the once a week 30 minute sessions with Making Waves. The other two did fine with Making Waves.
