A friend was kind enough to share the latest library Foundation Donor Update bulletin with me. I was very annoyed to read how political the foundation board is. To suggest that Governor Murphy had anything to do with moving the Library Construction Bond Act forward is absurd; "..the state construction bond is moving forward now that Governor Murphy is in office." He had nothing to do with this. It would move forward regardless of who was elected governor. Let's thank those who voted for the bonds passage and those who contributed, not someone who had nothing to do with it. This sounded more like a pro-Murphy/democratic piece than an update. |

What is a LIBRARY FOUNDATION DONOR UPDATE? Who is distributing it? Where can we see one? |

Isn’t the library old news already. Who gives a cares anymore. It’s being built and that’s it. Get a life, until a new topic comes up. |

I am not a Gov. Murphy supporter by any stretch. But this is a ridiculous thread as though the update is some secret update or political propaganda.
First, anyone can get this update. I am not a Foundation member, I googled it and found it in 1 second. Cranburylibraryfoundation.org. In fact there a number of updates posted.
Second, what the trolling poster wrote is not what library wrote nor is it in the spirit of what the library wrote. This is why Cranbury.info is so bad at actual information. What is actually stated that mentions Governors is as follows:
1) Now that Governor Murphy has been inaugurated, a program office has been set up at the New Jersey State Library (NJSL) to administer the construction bond program.
2) Later on it states, Last summer before the library construction bond act was signed by then-Governor Christie, the project went out to bid through a public bidding process.
The update is simply that an update.
1) it no more supports Gov. Murphy than Gov. Christie. You can't explain the process without mentioning either one.
2) The office to administer the program required the new Gov. to be in office. The old Governor is not making 2018 appointments and decisions. So even if it had stated what the troll did (and to be clear it did not) the administration could not have moved forward until Governor Murphy was inaugurated (in office) because the process and appointments necessary were still open. Just as the Cranbury TC needs to meet, select a Mayor and then make appointments to our local boards and commissions.
If people are to be informed then you need correct information not what trolls are posting. |

It's not being built (yet anyway). They needed more money and asked the Township for it. The Township Committee declined but stated its support for the statewide ballot initiative to create a library bond program. It passed. So now they presumably hope to apply for it and get the funding they need to proceed. Until they do it's not a sure thing. At the moment no contract has been signed to proceed with construction. Even if they get the bond money they likely will need to re-bid it because the previous ones will have expired. |

The last two posts are excellent and what this site should be about. |

Paul, you can't make the ADA case for the Library. I agree with Thomas post. Cranbury will not get any bond money versus low-income communities applying.
Current building fund for new Library Building has seen donors cancel pledges and two donors have gotten refunds!
The re-bid will be exorbitant.
Too many resources and library tax revenue spent on the NEW library building have seriously undermined the conditions and functions of the current library. |

It is such a shame the library construction boondoggle has become so contentious that the husband of the librarian would publicly trash their former friends, Glenn & Phyliss Johnson, as part of the Indivisible effort to "primary" them out of office.
I hope the people of Cranbury are turned off by these ongoing underhanded efforts by the small group of new construction supporters. Ironic that no one is complaining about the environmental issues of taking precious green space to build an unnecessary new library building. |

I have been turned off by the library for years. Very unprofessional of the librarian to act this way. The previous comment is so true as well. If anyone else wanted to build on preserved township land they would have a fit. I’d rather see a new librarian that’s happy to work with what she or he has. |

The Township should hold of building a new library because we will need that area to build another school when all the new homes or apartments get built. We can’t just expand onto the new school as that will take away from the school outdoor activities for kids for gym class. |
