I believe its a combination of issues of the uneven ice and the ground being too warm underneath the rink which has caused the rink to not freeze fully. Trust me I want it open as much as anyone and the rec commission is working on solutions for the future.

For this year lets all hope the lake freezes again so we can open it for skating.

Usually the lake is not used since it does not have the thickness to support a Sherman tank or a fire truck!!!

Yes the ground was uneven last year and the year before that. That is why the rink didn't freeze.

The ice rink will not be erected at Village Park this winter because the area at the park used for the rink is uneven which does not allow for a safe skating surface. The Township is looking into alternate locations for the rink for future use.
