Our school Admin and Staff, along with Township Police and Crossing Guards have been working hard to ensure the safety and smiles of our children as they make their way to and from school! Within our Cranbury Indian community are those observing Ganesh Chathurti, a celebration of new beginnings, wisdom and removal of obstacles, as well as Onam, a colorful celebration of the harvest. Additionally, some residents are observing the Mawwlid, a commemoration of the birth of the prophet. May all these special holidays be meaningful and happy! Today marks suicide prevention day. Please note the crisis hotline is 988 for those who need extra emotional support. Help is a phone call away. As last nights meeting we discussed the success of Cranbury Day and the Helen Cody 5K. Many out of town residents attended both events and had positive comments about their experiences. Cranbury Day is a great event, brought to us by the Cranbury Business Association, that brings together residents and highlights businesses and activities around the area. The Helene Cody race is a fundraiser that helps fund youth driven service projects, scholarships and awards. This year a record-breaking, 580 registrants participated! The award ceremony took place adjacent to the 9/11 memorial of flags where 2,977 flags were placed in the ground at Heritage Park, commemorating each life lost during the attack. Eagle Scout Tyler Cenci lead the efforts along with many of the scout volunteers. Gold medalist Olympian (Athens 2004), Jason Read attended the awards! A warm thank you to all whose efforts made these events possible, especially our youth volunteers! Earlier this week, Senator Linda Greenstein, Assemblywoman Tennile McCoy and Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo, as well as members of the Township Committee and Parks and Rec Committee, attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new inclusive playground in Village Park. This playground was completed through state funding! With the goal of traffic calming, there is a new gateway sign on Plainsboro Road informing drivers that they are entering Historic Cranbury. At our meeting, we heard about efforts towards an “adopt a storm drain” program, and we mentioned many upcoming events of the historic nature. Please keep an eye on the events posted! At our public comment, residents from the 4 Seasons development shared that they were interested in road repairs for their community. The township was able to let them know that this community is on the list for 2026.
