It was 6:35 am on South Main Street with the driver blaring rap music! Between that and the cars flying down Main Street all night, I guess I won't sleep with my windows open again for a long time!

Just a point of clarification -- it DOES fit under the noise ordinance -- no one private or public can make inordinate noise before 7 AM -- i.e., a contractor can't start jack hammering in front of a home before 7 AM. The trucks qualify as loud.
We just need to complain to get the ordinance enforced.

I live on S. Main so I hear traffic all the time. I can understand the noise issue though. It is my understanding that the town has no control over Midco since we contract out privately and there's not a lot the town can do since this does not fall under the noise ordinance as written. The best bet is to try and get residents and then go to midco as a signed petition of purchasers.
If we had town garbage then we'd have a better leg to stand on as the town as a purchaser could make a request in their contract with the provider. I know towns that do this and dictate no collection prior to 8am.

Now that the weather is nice enough to sleep with the windows open, is there any one else out there tired of hearing the garbage trucks on Saturday mornings before 7 AM.
It is against the town noise ordinance for these trucks to be making all that noise before 7 AM. If you are tired of having your quiet sleep disturbed, contact the Town Adminstrator and let her know.
The complaints need to roll in so a summons can be issued and MIDCO will stop disturbing the peace.
