In case you're interested here's a link to an old discussion from 2007 about the pig farm controversy. Not sure how close this is to that house which was also selling at the market peak. Good luck with your search and decision.

I have heard other people in the past complain that from some of the houses on Dey (pronounced "die") you can smell the farm where they do some slaughtering of pigs. I have no idea if that is true of this house or not, just passing on what I've heard in the past.
Also, this house will definitely not be walkable or safely bikeable to Main Street or the school if that is important to you. You have to go onto Route 130 to get to Main from Dey.
This house is a great deal if you like the relative isolation, the preserved farmland, beautiful farmland scenic views and decent lot size. If you prioritize access to the school and Main Street, the one on South Main for $449 is also a steal and is just the opposite -- not much backyard but perfect location and walkable to everything. Just depends on your priorities. |

At this price it is a steal. It backs up on preserved farmland[christmas tree farm]. The market has just been poor all around. This home could not be built for $580,000. today considering the land value and material and labor costs. The only minus might be Dey road traffic but that is minor. |

Is there an issue with this home that anyone is aware of? |

This is economic gobbledegook. |

Is this specific to this property, or just a general rant? |
