The town has been working with the county to stop the Con Agra smell and rumors in town are that the facility is changing operations.

It might be good to understand the law. The town cannot simply say we don't want you. If the zoning allows for rentals and repairs which it clearly does with Enterprise, Perrine, the Oil Lube place, the car detailer George's and formerly Paul's they cannot stop Penske. If they did then the town would be sued for damages and the right to build.

Also, the TC does not weigh in on Planning and Zoning applications. That is an entirely separate board out of the TC control.

This is not a truck stop as the other poster pointed out. It is the original application.

It might be good to visit the other Penske Facility in South Brunswick to see what we are getting. You will have refueling, repairs, and diesel emissions for the new low income housing folks across the street. They may not mind as we get so many from Staten Island and NYC not N. J.. That along with the stench from Con Agra /Spice Tec behind Hassleback on Santa Fe Way will only add to the disgusting smell we now have to tolerate on Main Street and in the Park. One would think with four members of the Committee living on Main Street we could get some relief!

Well, good news. All is a rumor. The original application stands. This is not going to be a “truck stop.” It’s going to be what they wanted; a truck rental facility.

Actually it is two separate people. No idea why it would be the same identifier. At the same time, what does that matter? It matters that they are trying to bring a truck stop to Cranbury and it seems be a secret. I only found out about by talking with people that are boards for the township. Don't you think this should be made a little more public?

We all thought hassback cared about the town. Ultimately he didn’t care too much about who he sold it too.

That's what I was told. It's going from a truck rental to a truck stop. It will include diesel fueling, truck wash and mechanics. So anyone with a Penske truck can bring it there to be washed, fixed or refueled.

I'd like to know if any studies have been done as to the impact on Cranbury Brook. The township is spending money this year to dredge the lake and now this might come to town. It doesn't make sense.

Is it true what I hear that the initial plans of property to be used for a low key use of a truck rental facility is now expected to be a Penske Truck full service facility? This would mean refueling, fulltime mechanics, etc. Anyone with a Penske truck could stop by for service. This would mean increased truck traffic and potential environmental concerns. Hopefully, this is just a rumor.
