Gee thanks for that "Crime Alert" Chief, I guess there has been nothing to report for 3 Months. Those "bells" tied to the residences doors must really be keeping the bad guys out.

I guess they still have not learned from the string of break-ins last year. Oh, they never installed those gates separating Cranbury from the rest of the World.

Not sure if I am the one in question or it was another home, but people have asked me about the situation at my home on S. Main.
A few weeks ago I left my front door unlocked and a gentleman thinking it was a business (same address on N. Main) walked into my living room. I was in another area of the house and I thought the person entering was my mother in law who had gone out for a walk a few moments earlier. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my living room to see this person standing there who was just as confused as I was since he was looking for a business. Yes, I did confirm with the business that this person belonged there as it is an appt. only business.
I told a few people what I thought was an interesting story. Now I have people asking me about the break in at my home. I assure everyone if this was the incident in question that it was an innocent mistake, although the frequency of visitors to my home thinking it's a business is rather annoying.
I did learn the lesson to keep the doors locked at all times.

I also heard that a resident on Main St was recently working on his house and found someone inside when he went in to get something. Anyone know the details about this situation?

Post subject: CRIME ALERT: SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
On 04/20/2009 at approximately 4:00 AM, a Prospect Street resident found his back door open. The homeowner awoke when his alarm system was activated. The homeowner’s son said he heard footsteps outside the home.
Residents are urged to report all suspicious persons and vehicles immediately. The use of an alarm system is highly recommended.
