In France, a boulangerie sells bread, not pastries. One would never purchase pastries at a boulangerie, so saying the BR's pastry basket is on par with that is far from a compliment. Perhaps this was a Freudian slip

This line is being blurred in France. While you would not find bread in a patisserie, more and more Boulangerie carry some pastries.
As to the specifics, what does the Blue Rooster pastry basket contain? While it may be called a pastry basket, I believe it contains mini croissants, mini pain au chocolat, and mini filled croissant or brioche. That is pretty much what you get at a boulangerie. |

| We absolutely love the Blue Rooster and would be devistated if anything were to happen to it. It's like going to a B&B, minus the First B. We like going to brunch as a family and it's always busy when we go - the food is delicious and the mini pastry basket is on par with a Parisian Boulangerie. For us, the slightly higher prices are worth it. |

| I'm not sure if I agree with it being overpriced. I do think that it has the overall feeling of a sinking ship. They can't keep the same chef for more then a few months, the staff turnover is constant, and they purchase a lot of their desserts from an outside source. That and a feeling of a "place for the ladies" makes it anything but a destination. I thought it was going to be a bakery first and a restaurant second. They need to reevaluate and keep it simple. |

| Probably will be better as a home. There was very little parking and to put in a lot would be tough. New busineses in town will probably not want to make such a big investment with the possibility of failure in this economic environment. It seems that unless you have a great idea that requires low overhead it would be a tough startup. So glad to see the great response to the new cichetti bar restaurant. It always seems crowded. Can't say the same for the Blue Rooster. It seems to have fallen on tough times. Tried to get something there on Valentines Day but it was closed. Not a good sign... |

The nail shop is opening in the former location of the photography studio several houses down from the corner. |
