Hey, if we all spray paint the signs 85 mph, maybe they'll just leave them eventually!

I just heard Maria resigned from the Cranbury Press so we have no reporter covering Cranbury or writing for the Cranbury Press. I really hope this is not the end of the paper. However, if they don't hire a balanced reporter or if they choose not to have a reporter dedicated to the paper I fear we will have no news source of value.
I noticed the paper still lists Hank as the managing editor, weeks after he was supposedly reassigned.

The Cranbury Press is bad. I don't want to blame it on the reporter, but it's very one sided, and ignorant of the facts. For example when the speed limit was lowered on Old Trenton Rd how come there was no mention that people who live in that area are now more likely to die or suffer a severe injury from a medical need or fire than when it was 50 m.p.h. Fire and emt responders who live in that area still must travel 35 m.p.h even with a blue light, and are not allowed to pass anymore either. Fire truck and ambulance must now slow down and wait for people to move over. Quite a dumb idea lowering it to 35 thank god I don't have to drive on Old Trenton RD, and Plainsboro RD is still 50.
This is just strange.
Not really the majority of people who live in Cranbury are upset about this new speed limit. From now on don't comment unless you know what is going on.
Oh please tell me, "what is going on?"

Can you share your survey results to quantify your statement that you represent the "majority" in Cranbury? Otherwise perhaps you should practice what you preach about not commenting.

And don't forget that at 35MPH, loud motorcycles aren't going fast enough to generate enough noise to alert pedestrians so they can jump out of the way! This is a safety hazard!!!

I'm shocked the Press didn't cover the mosquito angle. Think about it- at 35 MPG, mosquitos can tuck and roll right off your windshield. At 50 MPH, mosquitos go splat. I'm tellin you, if we end up with a malaria outbreak, I'm pointing the finger at the county freeholders, TC , Obama, the tea party, Bush, Cheney, Halliburton, ACORN and the ACLU.
Don't forget the Black Panthers and Sarah Palin

Ummm just because someone posted this does not mean they did it.....LOL
Ummmm Just the opposite. I find anything and everything posted here to be true and relevant. This is the "Voice of Cranbury". I cancelled my subscription to that rag of a newspaper the Cranbury Press once I found this site. I love how they force some college intern of a reporter to find something interesting to write about. There is different things they could write about if they just gave it some effort. The paper carries the Cranbury name but they would rather report on the other towns around us than step foot into Cranbury. hmmmmmm
Yea the Cranbury Press really sucks! It's the most one sided newspaper I have ever seen. Waste of paper.

let's get back ontopic. I think the general consensus is that the Editor change will be good for Cranbury Press and it looks like some folks are willing to resubscribe to the CP to show support of the change.
I would agree they need a change but it remains to be seen whether that is a good thing or not. I know nothing one way or the other about the new editor or what influence Mr. Kalet, who still works in the org, will have with the new editor. The fact that tehy are still giving space to his non-topical column every week suggests he still holds sway there.

I find all my news online, both local and national (Its good to save the trees. Even my cell phone can now get news delivered to it).
And yes Internet has killed the newspaper star - how's your record collection doing btw??
FYI- trees are an environmentally friendly, renewable and recyclable resource. Computers and cell phones are made from toxic and poisonous materials that never decompose.
BTW- most of your "online" news comes from newspapers, the medium you seem so satisfied to see destroyed. In a few years when you're paying $1 per story to download news to your iPhone, maybe you'll realize "hey, I used to get a whole newspaper for $1!" Of course, it will be too late by then.
Trees are not recyclable, Meathead.
Paper is.
You sound like the type of nabob who thinks that cutting down trees actually saves them!!!!!!!
Is isn't James Watt, is it?

This wins the silliest post award. This board does not have more news than the CP. What it does have is more misinformation. .... It is fine to have issues with various papers, but don't delude yourself into thinking they do not serve a purpose.
I never said that news media serves no purpose, just that the paper version will become extinct. But you also missed my other points, guess you dont read this board much, I do agree there's a lot of reposting going on here. But just this week on this forum, original news topics and discussions included:
1) Editor change at the CP
http://cranbury.info/viewtopic.php?p=15452#15452
2) Quarterly Budget
http://cranbury.info/viewtopic.php?p=15448#15448
3) Reinhardt property Why its desirable for township?
http://cranbury.info/viewtopic.php?p=15461#15461
Granted that the other 6 active discussion this past week were started by news articles from other sources like NJ.com/SL/CP etc, but they also borrow content and ideas from this forum as well, ie Porchfest was discussed here on the forum first before it became an article in Starledger and then later on the CP.
Again there's plenty of news that is published on the forum first and the discussions are equally news worthy from local discussions, sometimes more so then the articles that first started it in the first place. Case and point - this weeks feedback about the Editorial change on the CP is another good example of two way communication that just doesn't happen on the CP at all and it educates me on the history of problems with the CP and its readership. To me this is far more valuable then the few polished, spell checked articles with pictures. I bet there will be far more to read here about the CP changes and how it affects the Cranbury readership then will show up on the CP paper next week. Dont get me wrong, I do appreciate the effort by CP and I do think it complements the forum, but the paper also benefits from ideas posted first on this forum. Again this board feeds content to the CP as well and makes it easier to find ideas for content in future editions of the press, its a symbiotic relationship that I think works well and make both better.
