Thankfully we all get a big tax refund in this town. Now all that needs to happen is to raise the fees the rec camp charges per camper, the kids can get paid more, and the tax refund can be used for something good. We all win.
And if the Cranbury rec camp is really just "barely hanging on for years", then maybe someone should come up with a business plan so they "hang on" comfortably while paying a wage according to the current NJ minimum wage standards.
Should not be that hard, should it be?
if it’s not that hard, why don’t you step up and help? I’m sure they would appreciate it if you roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Or are you one of those people who just whines and moans about the people who actually something? Be a dear... volunteer!

Dan Mulligan has the courage to say what needs to be said. These Agenda radicals relay on Political correctness to protect them. Radicals will fight for the right of all People to express their opinions, then when they discover your opinion is different from theirs they attempt to destroy you. Good work Dan. We need your candor and courage to call them out.

Right. A community organizer who was proven wrong doesn’t deserve to be questioned. the Mayor had already had people respond to the claim prior to the meeting. Yet this person decides to show up and video the his speech making a claim that was already proven false.
They then write their own article again highlighting false data. Because they are known to be wrong and because this person is a politician not a real reporter trying to make a name Dan called him out. This individual did not like being told the truth so he wrote about being criticized. Using a photo that is by the way copyrighted by another media publication. And Dan is the bad guy.
The only people who see Dan as the bad guy here are the Indivisible nut cases. Who enjoy seeing the town blamed.
Per the minutes from 2/25 Mayor Taylor addressed the comments as well and highlighted again how the community organizer was spreading false statements and the town legal team confirmed there was nothing wrong.

Actually I think the article is good example of good journalism. There were interviews and facts presented and the intricacies of the legal issues involved were explored.
Then, at the end of the article, Dan Mulligan chimed in with his attack on the media and over-reacted to the press doing their job and citizens being interested in the issue. It seems that other members of the TC were interested in getting to bottom of this particular issue.
My neighbors say that Mr. Mulligan has his roots in the Tea Party wing (now Trump) of the Republican Party. It not pleasant to see Trump tactics on display from members of our TC. Mulligan’s contentiousness, lack of civility and hostility to transparency are certainly not appreciated by the majority of the folks who live here. At least Mulligan could show concern that some of our youngest Cranbury employees were perhaps underpaid
So I hope he will not be re-elected to his TC position.
Take the politics out of this. Based on Mr. Mulligan's comments as reported in the newspaper article, Mr. Mulligan is not temperamentally suited to be a public official!!!

At the meeting I also heard:
- The long time drainage issue on Plainsboro Road is going to be fixed with added storm drains to stop flooding people’s driveways.
- The Mayor and town negitiated a deal without Toll Brothers where as part of the development on Dey Rd for Senior housing Toll will reconstruct Petty Rd and remedy the drainage issues. There is a 2m cost will contribute around 200k.
Please correct the above if wrong as this is what I heard as I was not there.
Think you meant to say the cost is 2m and the town will contribute around 200K. Thus saving residents 1.8m or so.

The Mayor addressed the issue last night. Cranbury followed all of the rules and is in compliance with all laws and will continue to follow the minimum wage laws in the future.

No one is pushing $15. That poster is a fake troll who wants people to believe the local democrats are pushing it but they aren't.

Thank you to the above poster for facts.
This thread is being run by Indivisible and their supporters -yet again to try and create problems. Who else would be looking for an activist community organizer site in New Brunswick? Note the push to pay a highschool kid 15 an hour now despite that not being the law which is 8.85 now. Look at their public portion of FB and you will see their push for 15. Not rocket science to connect the dots.
Sadly, we have a TC with two members of Indivisible on it. Look at the votes. Instead of Mike realizing he won by just 11 votes and should work with the TC he regularly opposes those who have helped the town with no facts behind him. Why abstain on Dan as Deputy Mayor if not to pacify indivisible?
This group is dangerous to Cranbury and our community, most residents see this. Please don’t give them a Forum.
Who is pushing $15 an hour?? It's years before that takes effect, and you know it. If you don't want to pay a fair wage, then just come out be honest and say so. If you think the practice of underpaying teenagers @ rec camp is ok, then say so.
Info on the $15 an hour timeline, to be fully implemented by 2024

Love how 316 is always trying to flame this board.
As the Rec camp is run by the Rec director and Rec board my guess is that they set the wages since they are not set by the TC. You don’t see wage resolutions for the Rec camp.
In terms of FLSA you’ll note the TC stated they were fine. The real newspapers did not run the story and the only people celebrating are Indivisible members and a community organizer from New Brunswick who is a 20 year old kid and not an employment lawyer.

The TC decides and sets the contract. So tell me if you have an issue with the salary what do you think is realistic? Clearly, the TC set some Basis for compensation. But since you know more tell us what you think and how you got it.
Does the CFO decide how much the seasonal workers get paid?
Does the CFO know the FLSA?
