They say they want unity and to better things. The minute they don’t get their way they start name calling, saying people are racist, etc... Ever since last year Indivisible people have been saying Dan, Glenn and Jay are racist because they said no to the CRC. Anyone who knows them knows that is not true. But that is the way Indivisible works. Look at ApC today calling Regan a racist. <br /> <br />The CRC and Indivisible folks since being told no have spent a ton of energy complaining, bashing our town and yet have done nothing to develop the CRC or volunteer. Almost a year later and nothing has happened except their continued name calling and getting people in town angry at them. Economic insecurity is a national epidemic in need of a government solution. <br /> <br />Aren’t we spending too much on huge tax breaks for wealthy companies? Would the money be better invested in safety net programs like health care, early childhood education, daycare and job training? And when did the rich stop getting high or drunk, and buying luxuries they don’t need? Isn’t investing directly in people’s welfare, so they can help themselves, a better bet than hoping corporate welfare benefits will trickle down to the poor? <br /> <br />If the government can support wealthy corporations with cash, it can support poor people with a basic income. Some say the poor don’t deserve it – as if Amazon “deserves” a billion-dollar tax break. But merit has nothing to do with why we should support the poor.
