As bubbles floated through the air and children with painted faces darted through the crowds on Saturday, Cranbury’s Main Street took on a festive atmosphere befitting its annual Cranbury Day celebration.
With music from the Quintessential Brass Band and a DJ providing an appropriate soundtrack for the day, residents and visitors made their way through the activities, displays, tables and demonstrations that Cranbury Day offered.
Among those displays was the Antique Car Show, which featured more than one dozen vintage vehicles provided by the Central Jersey Antique Car Club.
”We were invited to Cranbury Day. We’ve been doing this for more than 20 years,” said Mahlon Thompson, a member of the Central Jersey Antique Car Club. “We like to show off our cars, and people seem to like looking at them.”
The Cranbury Digital Camera Club also had a display table set up outside the Gourgaud Gallery in Town Hall, and had photos from its August workshop sitting on easels.
”The images get people interested in what we do and get people aware of the gallery,” Camera Club co-secretary Jerry Carbone. “This is only our second year as a club and we found that Cranbury Day is a great way to get people aware of it.”
