Mr. Taylor was bashed by a few hardcore Republicans and then beat the TC candidates handily. All this amounts to is the ads and signs basically as in the end it's the top two vote-getters that count regardless of party of joint candidacy. <br /> <br />There is local precedent for voters picking candidates from each party despite joint candidacies. In fact, that's exactly what happened when Dave and Jay ran the first time when they were in opposite parties and each had a second member of their own parties running with them. Which is why the comment about Jay getting elected because of Dave is silly and sounds like someone's sour grapes. Dave and Jay were both incumbents and like with most elections incumbents usually win. Neither alternative candidate had much history with local government.
