Post subject: Cranbury Candidate Profile: Dan Mulligan
Two seats are up for grabs on the Cranbury Township Committee. Democratic Mayor Glenn Johnson and Republican Committeeman Dan Mulligan are running for reelection to regain their position. Democrat Joseph Buoavolonta and Republican Tom Connolly are also running for the three-year terms on the Committee.
All of the candidates were asked to answer the same questions about themselves and their political stances for East Windsor Patch. Patch will be running these candidate profiles up until the election.
DAN MULLIGAN CANDIDATE PROFILE
NAME: Dan Mulligan
AGE: 43
OCCUPATION: Technical Account Manager - Microsoft
1. Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your background and why you should be elected.
My candidacy is my love for our community and my wanting to give back to our town by being a part of protecting and preserving the uniqueness of Cranbury, while at the same time planning for our community’s long term future. All while not jeopardizing those special things which make Cranbury what it is.
Over the last three years I have been privileged to serve as a member of our Township Committee. During this time as a community we have endured the economic turbulence created by the “Great Recession” where we saw both commercial property and home values decline significantly in a very short
period of time, which placed a great strain on our community financially. We then endured first in 2011 Hurricane Irene which brought catastrophic flooding to our community and then in 2012 Super Storm Sandy which left many of our friends and neighbors here in our community without power, cold and in the dark for over one week.
By working together we have been able to overcome these challenges and more during the last three years. In fact our community is even stronger now as we are well positioned for the future. That is why I am proud of my work on our Township Committee.
