Here is the article on the Protnick farm and the forced court settlement. It is pretty clear the town was forced to accept housing, that preservation was taken off the table by Toll and the Protinicks and that we could have had market rate school housing.

Holly,
I don’t know what happened in your life to make you think it’s OK to treat other people so poorly, but I sincerely hope you get help and get a grip on your anger and emotions.
Sincerely,
(Not Jay)

You mean Protinick farm where the town had a contract with the owners and then the owners screwed the town at the last minute and joined a Toll lawsuit against the town? The TC which aside from Jay was - Glen then the head of the Dem party, Susan - current head of the party and Dave a long time Dem party member? If that is your case for failure of preservation then you would only vote Republican as the Farm was lost with a 4-0 Dem TC.
Nice try trolling.

Well there you have it folks, straight from the horse’s mouth. Matt Scott believes that building a new library is the most pressing concern in town. If you agree with him, go ahead and vote for him, I guess.
Personally I think that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, but yay democracy!
I check this blog/forum from time to time, recently not finding too much of value. But, I am glad someone posted the Candidates' statements.
I personally align with Matt Scott on a number of issues, but to read in his own words the primary importance he places on a new library and the "benefits" he sees coming from that building make my vote in this local election very simple-I will vote for Joe.
btw, I am a lifelong democrat, but to hear such determination and myopic thought from Matt about a library means I will vote based upon the issues, as we all should, and not a party.
Just no, don't. The library will resolve itself, it is not worth voting republican on any issue
What a dumb thing to say! Are you really that foolishly and blindly partisan?
That guy is lying and FoS. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Jay himself posting again.
Lying about what? Matt was pretty clear in his interview. So far on this thread the only lying BS I've seen is
YOU
suggesting Joe and Jay want to erect confederate statues in town, which is obviously ridiculous, mean-spirited BS.
Do you realize that when you stereotype, otherize and demonize all Republicans (and moderate democrats), you are guilty of the same behaviors you claim to hate about Trump? You might as well be the "Left Trump".

Wow! Just when I think you can't say anything more ridiculously stupid, you do it again!
Preserving farmland... I don’t believe Republicans like Jay did a good job there after seeing what happened to Protinick Farms. Is that how we preserve our heritage and open space?

What stands out to me is Joe is looking at the cost impact. He’s taking a big picture approach.
I was expecting a Matt to mention the circle and Liberty way. Two key things to truck traffic. But it was regional focus. Not a solution.
As to small business Matt put in the Econ development. But Joe is a small business owner. There was no discussion on what Matt would do. Joe talks of working with the Business Assoc and chambers of commerce and how as a business owner he understands.
It almost seems to me that the comments should be reversed as Joe had more concrete positions outside of the library and yet is not the incumbent.

That is possibly the most arrogant thing I’ve read on this board. The library “will resolve itself”?? Maybe all of you should have thought of that before your main man Matt went and made a bold statement about a very divisive issue. Everyone is allowed to vote for who they want. I’m another lifelong Democrat who will be voting for Joe. Some of us like this town the way it is. I hate the way you Indivisible loons talk down to people, as though Matt Scott forcing an expensive, unnecessary pet project down taxpayers throats is not a good enough reason to want him out.

Our town has a historical village. We have the the highest percentage of preserved farmland relative to size in the county, these used to be good things. How can the Democrats say that historical preservation is bad? Why must the Dems resort to name calling and slander.
