New hire could potentially start in July
Teachers and parents have spoken.
The results of the Dec. 13 discussions with Cranbury School staff and parents show that knowledge of state curriculum issues, past principal experience and a strong history of leadership are some of the criteria that should be used to judge candidates for Cranbury's new chief school administrator.
Carol Larsen, field service representative for the New Jersey School Boards Association, reported these findings at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.
Ms. Larsen was also the representative working with the district in 2001, when it chose Chief School Administrator Carol Malouf to replace Robert Bartoletti.
According to Ms. Larsen, the application process will begin Jan. 14, when the ad for the job position is officially released.
The new hire, who will potentially begin working July 1, will replace Ms. Malouf, who will retire at the end of June.
Ms. Larsen said she found that Cranbury School staff is most concerned with class sizes, how programs are developed in the district and the chain of command among administrators.
