Decency... Including responsible posting. And responsible monitoring of this site would be nice.

Oh, come on, you can't be serious. Are you really trying to suggest that a dark park would cause people who are currently not picking up their dogs poop on walks to do so? Even with a dog park plenty of people will still walk their dogs. If someone is already inclined to break the law and show so little regard for common decency that they don't pick up after their dog, having a park won't change that. In fact, people are supposed to pick up after their dogs in dog parks too. Seems like such people would do no better there.

That is really gross to hear someone would not clean up. Has this stopped now?

Ignoring silly comments about mean looking people, I agree with this thread. We have issues with this too. The problem is that I am not home during most days or the culprit(s) strike at night. So i don't know who is letting it happen. I rode my bike around over the weekend and saw a number of piles of evidence that at least one person regularly does not see the need to show any amount of respect for their neighbor's property or the cleanliness of the neighborhood. I'm sure there is something on the books that provides for a fine to offenders. I say double it.

On the road, near the sidewalk, on front lawns? Is this really seen as okay?? I hope that whoever is being this inconsiderate either develops a sense of decency and responsibility or is found out and reported.

There are a lot of people who walk their dogs through town. It could be more then one person. I walk my dogs though town all the time and carry bags in my pocket, so someone would not know that I am carrying a bag. And what does it have to do if someone is "mean-looking??"

Also - if you do see someone not cleaning up after their dog, say something to them. I have heard a few stories already about people calling the police. We all live in a small town, and if something like this bothers you, and you see it happening walk up to the person and say something. Personally I always clean up after my dogs. There has been a time I ran out of bags, but went back to clean up after.

Which area?

When you see people walking their dogs, see if they carry a bag. If not, usually these people are mean-looking.
