I assure you this is not a Phishing site. Here are some articles about it:

New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/13/business/on-nextdoorcom-social-networks-for-neighbors.html

Wall Street Journal: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324482504578454872810078476.html

Huffington Post:

You can also learn about nextdoor.com by watching this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V1tlhGjSMc

It does ask you for some personal information to verify that you indeed live in Cranbury. Your address can be verified in several ways: They will send you a postcard in the mail, call your listed telephone number, or do an address query on your credit card without charging anything to it.

Nothing to do with this discussion thread.. and this solicitation to join this site is very suspicious, prompting for much personal information, cell phone verification, and credit card verification.
Whomever posted this, maybe this is legitimate, but it appears to be too risky to follow that link. Appears to be phishing site.

Mom, we ran out of gas on the lawn mower, plus I have baseball practice. I promise I'll do it this weekend...

Just passed it by. It's near the park. It's odd; only a small patch is uncut.

It is where crocuses bloomed this spring. The have to wait until the crocus leaves yellow before cutting it back. Probably another two weeks.
