the flow of traffic is determined by standing in the street looking at the front of your house and the cut ends are on the left side of the pile thus with the flow of traffic when the piles of brush are stacked backwards the guys have to turn the whole pile 180 degrees to put it in the chipper. I want to commend the guys for working hard thru this whole pandemic and storms in such hot weather so THANK YOU.

Always gotta bitch about something huh? These guys work their asses off. If their job is so easy and it "should" be done I would like to see you do all the chipping within a week. Very snobby typical new Cranbury attitude. I am going to guess you just moved here and things are not up to par for you

PW can put an orange violation notice on piles and not pick it up. That happened to me about 5 years ago. Never happened again.

There is no reason to be upset about chipping. The amount of chipping required is tremendous from this storm. The physical labor required to chip all the debris would take a toll on anyone even in the best physical shape. One other factor is that sooo many residents refuse to pay attention to placing the branches properly---that means THE CUT ENDS OR LARGE ENDS are to be placed in the direction of traffic adjacent to the curb. Unfortunately public works has continued to struggle with criss crossed piles placed by inconsiderate or just dumb residents who refuse to pay attention to the requests for proper placement. IF the Committee members would just instruct public works to LEAVE those piles that are not stacked properly then we could get on with an efficient cleanup. We need to run this like an efficient business. Public works has always been an asset to our town so lets cooperate and stop whining.
This should be on the agenda of the next TC meeting so there is a clear position from the TC.

Why are you complaining? Is it really the end of the world that you have brush at the curb? Be glad you don’t have the VIRUS. I do they they chip the west side of Main Street from north main to the circle and then chip the east side of Main from the circle to north Main.

Public works has been in my development (shadow oaks) for the last 2 days chipping their butts off. we had alot of chipping at the curb out here.

I put them out and when they get chipped they get chipped. It doesn’t bother me if the leaves go brown. Usually though I keep them in a pile by my driveway and drag them out the Saturday before chipping so I am impacted the same either way.

What do you do the rest of the year when there is a storm?

Hey 50r5. I can suggest what you do with your branches.

Main street has a paving project occurring and some chipping was done by the county in prep.

If you have an issue then don’t put the branches out until the third Wed.

Oddly they had time to clean up Main St. Easy to give them a break when your neighborhood has been cleaned. Leaves on downed branches have now dried and are blowing all over gardens etc. All while DPW is watering the flowers by the Lake. The storm created an unusual need . DPW Management should be capable of adjusting the schedule to react to unusual situations.

Chipping does not begin until the third Wed. They may have posted this as a courtesy to let people know where they can place debris so as not to have it in their yard and perhaps they will also start early to try and do clean up. But they are not technically supposed to start until the 3rd Wed so let’s give them a break.

August 5 - Storm Chipping Information

Residents can place brush/chipping at the curb for collection. The DPW will be around to chip the debris. Please follow the set chipping protocols.

https://www.cranburytownship.org/sites/g/files/vyhlif4296/f/uploads/brush_-_chipping_service.pdf

Due to the current paving project on South Main Street, residents can place brush/chipping between the curb and sidewalk, not in the street.

If you require service, please call 609-664-3129, leave your address. It will be added to the chipping list. A return confirmation phone call will not be made.
