Yesterday, on nj.com, the following article addressed the issue of salty water: http://www.nj.com/somerset/index.ssf/2015/03/does_your_water_taste_like_salt_heres_why.html
Significantly, in this article a spokesperson from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection said, "Utilities are doing the right thing putting out advisories for people on salt sensitive diets" and
"Anyone on a salt-sensitive diet could take precautions like drinking bottled water." The American Water Company web site does not have an advisory pertinent to this issue. I called the company and while the woman I spoke to did not have any information for clarification, she did offer to have a water quality person call me back. I am awaiting that call. She also said the water quality is tested 2 to 3 times a day. [/i] |

Our water smells slightly like lighter fluid or kerosine. Basement / hot water heater smells fine.
As far as I know tap water, is the public water that comes from your tap. |

I just drank my tap water; it did not taste salty. I am in Shadow Oaks and have public water. |
