Post subject: Re: Using HDTV to received basic HD channels from Comcast
I just set up my Panasonic plasma HDTV (50PX60U) with the basic Comcast cable connection.
I did an auto channel scan. Here is the list of HD channels I can view:
Ch. | Station (HD format)
---------------------------------
110-1 ABC HD (720p)
110-3 NBC HD (1080i)
111-1 PBS HD (1080i)
111-4 CBS HD (1080i)
113-1 CW HD (1080i)
113-2 FOX HD (720p)
---------------------------------
Is the list complete?
BTW, the TV picture quality is excellent!

That's what I am trying to avoid. I don't watch broadcast TV alot, except the PBS programs. My Basic Comcast cable service (~$18/month) is sufficient for me. I hope that I can get PBS HD signals from my basic cable services. Otherwise, I'll probably install an outdoor antenna to get off-the-air HD signals.

Post subject: Using HDTV to received basic HD channels from Comcast
I am planning to by an LCD HDTV with built-in NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner.
I have the Basic Comcast cable service (the cheapest kind) now. Does Comcast include HD signals in the Basic cable service? I am hoping I can receive the PBS HD channels using an HDTV from my Basic Comcast cable. Thanks!
