Why did they lock the other forum? It's the best entertainment I have had for years... |

From the club website FAQ. Perhaps they should change it if as some suggested there is no obligation to refund the money:
"A one time bond payment of $500.00 per membership is required. The payment is refundable when the membership is canceled." |

we can all agree or disagree on this. Some want their bond money back. I am not sure they understand this is not exactly promised in the by-laws. The bond makes you a co-owner in the club , no more and no less, and there is nothing listed about time frames for refunds. I know you might feel you are owed that money based on others getting their refunds in the past, but its not promised anywhere.
Having said that, many of us do want this club moving forward and for that to happen we need to get these finances under control. The treasurer sent out that email last year informing us the club ran with a money loss each year and that we had no financial reserves etc.
So what was done to correct that? Did the annual membership numbers go up? Did we get more paying members ?
How much longer can we go on like this without raising more revenue? I cannot remember the last time our annual rates went up. How can it continue to be $650 when everything else cost more each year?
You can't run a club like, that volunteer board or not. You need to have enough revenue coming in to not only cover the ongoing expenses , but also build a nest egg for those rainy days when we need to spend $30K to fix the pool.
Would anyone dispute that?
Several people clearly do not trust the current financial situation, but for different reasons. Some do not trust the money is there, others do not trust the people handling the finances have the abilities to fix this.
It really does not matter. This has gone out of control. Please let us have a membership board meeting so we can address the items being posted here in good faith. |

You really believe there are only one or two people who care that the club may not have the money to pay back member's bonds? If so you are living in a fantasy of your own creation. People can make themselves believe anything.
I have no idea how many posters are raising the issue here. Probably at least as many as are attacking them and trying to act like its not an issue. Either way, there are a lot more people who don't post here who care about this and are frustrated by the situation. |

I do not care about the bond money, but I do care about the club being run without loosing money each year or being on the brink of a financial disaster.
As a happy co-owner please provide me (us) some insights into the financial situation.
Please remember it was the club treasurer that started all of this via last years email to the members about our finances.
Can we please have a board meeting about this?

This is now the thread that never ends. No on has made a post in two weeks or so that breaks any new ground. The post are a continual rehash of old complaints. It is time for this to die. |

I believe in my heart that the pool board has the best interest of the community at heart. This is a volunteer position and these people do not have to devote their time and resources. They do it because they care. These posts have brought to light that there are some misconceptions about the operations of the pool. I am sure the board is aware of these misconceptions and they will be addressed to membership soon. With any transition of board membership there will be a period of re-education, organization and improvement. I love the pool and it is a wonderful place to spend time with my family. There were many positive changes this summer and we were very fortunate to have board members going the extra mile to make it a nice place for us all. Let us give this board a chance to reply in an appropriate forum. Berating their efforts will not help. |
