I was walking down main street earlier and sadly Susan Goetz who is running for Township Committee this year in a desperate move has decided to place campaign signs around town. This decision by Susan Goetz not only takes away from the beauty of our historic district but also is not environmentally friendly. With Susan Goetz being a 30 year resident we all assumed she would know better then to place ugly signs around town which if we get one good wind storm will be littering our streets.
Please contact Susan and let her know how you feel about her signs in our historic district.

I agree on the disappointment in the signs. However, there aren't enough to worry about wind storms and we see similar state election signs (see Wayne's). The issue to me is that this takes a step in town politics that we have managed to avoid. It makes an entry for bigger politics in our town. We always ran elections without yard signs and all the issues that come with it.
However, I thought both parties came to their senses after the year Dan, Dave, Glenn and Jay all ran and put ads in the paper. That was a turn off and I thought both parties realized that it hurt the town which is why there no ads last year. Now we have signs.
Plus I thought it was bad enough when state election signs popped up maybe 5-10 years ago. Please let's not take the step of yard signs in town. |

What a Distraction the Susan Goetz signs are in our beautiful Historic Village. Susan is not the only political candidate who is advertising in town with these ugly signs however she is the only person running for our local township committee who is. When multiple candidates have signs all over town, things start to look cluttered and messy. I believe that how a person runs a political campaign is how they will be once in office. This shows a real lack of understanding by Susan of how important the historic look of our town is. Which sends me a very clear message. |

Life must be good if this is a concern. A "desperate move" is an interesting level of sensationalism to bring to your point. Generally, campaign signs are inefffective in terms of influencing me. So I do not place much value in them. But this post seems a bit over the top with the "desperate move" and assertion that they are environmentally unfriendly. |

I am really concerned with the Pollution problem of the Susans Goetz campaign yard signs. They’re only used temporarily. What do you do with them once the campaign is over? Throwing them away would be wasteful. Where does the plastic on that sign go? Into a landfill? Susan Goetz should be using less-wasteful forms of political advertising. Shame on you Susan for destroying our local environment one yard sign at a time. |

Absolutely! A couple dozen signs is clearly worse than thousands of brochures and door hangers. Shame on all of you- Susan, Karen, Wayne and Linda! IMO, campaigning should be limited to word of mouth and ham radio! The constitution guarantees "FREE SPEECH"; it doesn't say anything about signs or brochures. |

This post is beyond a pathetic attempt by Cranbury Tea Party members to sway the vote to their candidate(Karen). Nice try. |

Were the signs put up on private properties by her supporters? If so, what's wrong with that? |

This is an incredibly lame thread. It must mean that we are getting close to an election. |

Since when are yard signs a problem in this town? Pollution, hurting our beautiful village, etcetcetc...GIVE ME A BREAK. This smells of political mudslinging- TEA PARTY? Wayne Wittman, a Republican candidate, has had signs littered everywhere for quite some time, tons of them- I don't hear anyone complaining...I, for one could care less, as long as they're pulled up the day after the election. |

I have to agree that there is a LOT of mud slinging here. However, there remains the concern that anyone of any party using signs makes our elections no better than other towns. I always liked that our town didn't have posters or signs that we voted based on who we knew or a knock on the door.
It's ridiculous to use the words disgraceful or talk of littering. |

I sure would have appreciated a knock on the door. I remember one candidate who never missed a TC meeting and spent almost a full year knocking on doors. He ended up being an excellent committee member until his fellow party members cut his leggs off!He really gave a darn.
The signs are a fact of life and as long as they are recovered the day after the election I find no problem with them. No matter what you think just VOTE! |

Campaign signs in a local election like Cranbury shows a real lack of motivation. Be honest when you see political signs, do they really sway your political opinion? The answer is No. In a town as beutiful and small as ours we have no need for such signs. Just come knock on my door. I just can't vote for someone that is so unmovtivated they can only put up signs around town. |

There seems to be one particular poster who is crazy enough to believe that all these over-the-top posts. They are so obvious too. Hint, this sit doesn't get a lot of traffic. If you want to pretend to be multiple people when you post try to wait more than a few minutes between your multiple identities. BTW, talking to yourself and agreeing with yourself in the third person is not a good sign of your mental health, you may want to look into that. |

You ridiculous complainers are just so out of it, don't you have anything else to worry about besides lawn signs? To be fair why aren't you complaining about Wayne Whittman signs too? There are many more of his signs around than Susan Goetzs'. I don't know how ANYONE with a conscience can still be Republican... |
