Woman's Club giving two scholarships to Cranbury students at Princeton High School.
Two Princeton High School seniors from Cranbury will receive a little financial help from the Cranbury Woman's Club.
The club is accepting applications for two $2,000 scholarships to be used by Cranbury students during their first year at a college or trade school, Woman's Club President Audrey Smith said.
"I think with the cost of a college education today, any amount of help that a student can receive is beneficial in paying the total costs of a college education," Ms. Smith said. "And we are hopeful that we will get several applications because it's just money that we're giving out, no strings attached obviously because they don't have to pay anything back."
In past years, the club has offered several students each year the opportunity to use Woman's Club money as interest-free loans that could be paid back over a period of three years after graduation. But Woman's Club member Chris Parker, who used to chair the group's undergraduate loans committee, said the growing demand for loans prompted the group to switch over to the scholarship system instead.
