| Several neighbors placed tree branches out already. I have some fallen tree branches in my backyard too. Can I place them on the curbside? |

| I was in town hall this week. Violation notices and fines are going out for chipping. Leaves can be put out anytime. Branches and limbs not for another two weeks weekend before the 3rd Wed. This has been discussed here numerous times so I think people start to think these are troll posts and that is why the lack of responses. |

I know it's early, but given the snow storm we had earlier this week, I though there will be an exception. |

| The township can only chip if they have the crew. The leaf pickup creates a lot of time as it has to occur every week. The town is stretched when they do chipping and leaf pickup. So to have extra chipping it would cost us a lot in tax dollars since we have a small public works crew. So if there is no extra chipping then there is a fine and violation. With Irene leaf pick up had not started so I think that is why they could fit in the extra chipping. |

you can pile it all on your property up to the edge. Before the sidewalk if you have one. Just not on the sidewalk, or the grass between the sidewalk and street or not in the street. |

| The above poster is correct. The reasons are both due to storm water management in that this debris clogs the storm drains and for appearance that no one wants to look at other people's debris. |

Do you believe piles of leaves are less likely to block storm drains than piles of tree branches?
And, piles of leaves are not considered debris? |

Do you believe piles of leaves are less likely to block storm drains than piles of tree branches?
And, piles of leaves are not considered debris? |
The two runs the leaf pickup every week. So while theybrun more risk they are also picked up more frequently. Because the brush can sit out 5 weeks or more depending on when the chipper gets to your home it presents more of an issue than the leaves. The chipper and leaf vaccuum are separate pieces of equipment. We only have a small PW crew so they have to prioritize.
Instead of complaining or questioning just follow the rules. |

Curbside chipping is scheduled to begin this month on November 16th, the 3rd Wednesday. Please place your chipping at curbside beginning this weekend, November 12th.
Your efforts to adhere to the chipping protocol as established in the Township’s Code § #120 and § #69 is greatly appreciated. Please be aware that notices of violation were sent (and will continue) to offending homeowners for the non-compliance of brush/chipping and leaf pick up placed at the curb in front of your property. If you receive a bright orange notice, please review the highlighted offense. Should you not understand why the notice was sent to you or if you believe it was received in error; please call 395-0900 x229 so we can discuss this.
Most of the notices are sent because the chipping was placed at the curb prior to the weekend before the 3rd Wednesday. Another popular reason is that the brush/chipping should be stacked parallel to the curb or near the curb with the cut (fattest) ends together. This allows the DPW crew to easily insert the branches into the chipper without going into the street to turn the pile around. Also remember, the placement of branch/ chipping must be directly abutting your property line, not in front of your neighbor’s property. Be assured that your neighbor does not want your brush/chipping pile in front of his/her property!
A total of three (3) warning notices will be issued to residents. The fourth (4th) notice will result in a $500. fine per day of violation depending upon the extent of and circumstance of the violation. |
