I like the design. It's simple and elegant, especially the color. |

I like the design, hate that we introduced them at the local level. I really hope we do not see this town become like all others. I am still voting Susan, but that does not mean I have to agree. That also seems the common sentiment that the signs went a bit much and are not Cranbury. |

I like that we went for months with nobody complaining about the Kanka signs. How about the new house on Main St. that has 3 signs within 10 feet of each other? Apparently only Republicans can show support for their candidates. It would be one thing if signs were on public land, but they are only on private property.
You know what I am sick of? Everyone being critical of stupid stuff like signs and nobody mentioning that Karen's big issue was taking credit for something that she had nothing to do with (route 130). Somehow she was given a free pass on that. |

And were all sick and tired of Susan trying to say she is going to stop flooding in Cranbury when she knows the decisions for the fixes will all be settled before she would be sworn in if she was elected. Talk about getting a pass.
As for the signs its really sad that she felt the need to put them up for a local election. It just really takes away from our town. |

There were signs for Corzine and signs for Benson, Greenstein and DeAngelo. There have never in the history of TC elections been signs for local candidates. This is a new step one that we had been fortunate enough never to cross. I'm still voting for Susan so I don't know how I can be political. However, if one can't see we crossed a line in making the election locally about spending, money, etc...then you won't understand the point. Though I do wonder if you'd approve if Karen did it and Susan did not.
I received two mailings and never got a visit from Susan or Karen. I don't like the local election to be who can out spend. |

Same old poster recycling the same old two year old link. Over and over again. It doesn't get any more meaningful with age or repetition. |

Isn't it ironic that some of you have chosen anonymous online blogging as your medium to lament the by-gone era of small town civility in politics? A little too ironic. |

I am not a long time resident and don't know either candidate. However, I will agree that I don't like signs. Do people really walk down the street and say Wow, I'll now vote for X person? I liken it to someone wearing a sports jersey. No one is going to look at me wearing an Al Toon jersey and say there is one of the Jets best Wrs of all time. It is just me wearing my favorite players jersey. So to me a sign is just someone showing their choice. Given that, I don't see the need to turn the local election into a professional one where money needs to be spent. |

The attitude of "don't spend money on a campaign" is unrealistic. The whole point is getting your message out to voters. Yes, a sign might not make you vote for someone, but it could get you to go to that candidate's web site. From there you can find out where he or she stands. That goes for mailings too, as well as newspaper ads (which Karen had two of last week). Otherwise you are left to rely on rumors and anonymous message board posts. Besides speaking to a candidate face to face the only direct source of information from a candidate is mailings, brochures, postcards, or a website. All things that cost money.
And for the record, a quarter page ad in the Cranbury Press is about $400, which means $800 was spent on two ads. Much more than whatever it would cost for however many signs are around town. |

In terms of cost benefit, I wouldn't even notice the Cranbury Press ads. But I sure as heck have noticed the signs. |

Same here, I don't subscribe to the newspaper. That can mean that using signs is more effective than ads on newspaper. That's one more reason to use signs for candidates to reach the voters. |

Thank you Susan Goetz for taking the signs down after the election.
Thank you Kanka & Wittman for taking your signs down as well.
Shame on you Linda Greenstein and Wayne DeAngelo for still having your signs up two days after the eletion on Main Street. |
