Diesel fumes are found to cause cancer, N.J. residents at high risk
The World Health Organization has determined diesel fumes can cause cancer, putting many New Jersey residents at risk, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.
Diesel exhaust was upgraded from a "probable carcinogen" to a carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the cancer arm of the World Health Organization, though the U.S. government still considers it a "likely carcinogen," the report said.
The classification brings it to the danger level of secondhand cigarette smoke, asbestos and ultraviolet radiation, and experts say diesel soot is known to increase risk of lung cancer, according to the report.
New Jersey faces an increased risk because the state is a transportation hub — trucks barrel down highways like the Turnpike all day, flowing in and out of major ports in Newark and Elizabeth. |

Remember the warehouses are the pact with the Devil the town made 30 years ago. By developing the east side of 130 we were able to preserve farmland on the west side and maintain the village. Without those decisions Cranbury today would look just like West Windsor or Plainsboro. To maintain the village we had to develop the east side of 130. I and most of the residence in town think it was a good decision. |

Sorry to reply again so soon, but L.L. you confuse me. From your anti-Jay posts I can conclude you are a republican. The Township committee that made the decisions on rezoning the eastern side of 130 was strongly republican. I think they did a great job. Are you some kind of new fangled republican who hates democrats, dislikes business and pro-business zoning, while at the same time favors unfettered residential growth???? That is what I conclude reading your posts. |
