Folks live near Rt-130 especially need precautions.
I still believe the economy down turn will make the situation worse. The good news is: the more jobs these burglars do, the more likely they will be caught. |

Actually it probably is a well thought out ring of theives. Princeton has also been hit by these burglaries too. It was reported in the Princeton Packet that they had 5 buglaries in the last 3 months - entering while people are at home.
"During one of the other burglaries, car keys were taken from the kitchen and used to steal a car in the driveway.
In June, police in the township, Princeton Borough, South Brunswick, Cranbury and Piscataway reported a total of 14 burglaries involving similar items being stolen while homes were occupied. In addition to the four burglaries that occurred in the township, Princeton Borough police reported two burglaries during that period.

CRANBURY — Police are investigating three more burglaries that occurred over the weekend on Station Road and Evans Drive.
The burglaries are believed to have happened sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning with burglars entering and stealing items from the residents’ garages.
”Some residents did not discover (the missing items) until a few days later,” Cranbury Police Chief Ed Kahler said.
This weekend’s incidents follow a string of burglaries that have occurred in the area.
”We are presently investigating 10 unsolved residential burglaries/attempted burglaries,” Chief Kahler said in a press release. “The burglaries have occurred on Evans Drive, Griggs Drive, Holmes Road, Station Road, Plainsboro Road, Bergen Drive and Stockton Drive. All unsolved burglaries took place from February of this year to present.”
Chief Kahler said burglars have stolen any number of items from the homes including tools, computers, pocketbooks and wallets.
In most cases burglars have entered through unlocked doors and windows sometimes even stealing the items while residents are in their homes, he said.
Police are urging residents and neighbors to not only lock their doors and windows but to turn on lights and alarms and immediately report any suspicious vehicles or activity to the department.
As for the most recent burglaries, Chief Kahler recommends residents lock up or tie bells to the inside of their garage doors to keep burglars out and alert anyone of illegal access to their property.
Anyone with information or with questions should call the department at 609-395-0031.To view any updates on the case log onto department’s Web site at www.cranburytownship.org/police_news.html.

E. Windsor residents warned to lock their cars
by Central Jersey News Update
Monday July 21, 2008, 11:20 AM
EAST WINDSOR -- A recent surge in the number of car break-ins has prompted police to warn residents to lock their vehicles.
Police said 16 break-ins involving about $5,700 in damage to vehicles and stolen property -- including Bluetooth headsets, cameras, cell phones, other electronic devices, plus purses containing credit cards or personal identification -- occured between June 15 and July 1, according to a report by the Windsor-Hights Herald. |

|
|
There are three (3) stories today in the news concerning incidents in Middlesex County where individuals were caught or confronted after they entered homes and apartments.
One person was caught in Plainsboro, which is good news.
It does however make you wonder if these break-ins along with our recent incidents and the others throughout the area are all connected or not?
Below are there articles concerning the three incidents reported today….
PLAINSBORO —A township man was arrested and found to be in possession of drugs after he entered an apartment, police said.
Jacob D. Tarver, 23, got into the apartment Saturday by climbing on the balcony and entering through the sliding door on the patio, police said. The home's occupant confronted Tarver and then called police. Tarver fled but was located on Deer Creek Drive and taken into custody, where police said he was found to be in possession of 36 grams of marijuana, four "hits'' of suspected LSD, drug paraphernalia and a blow gun.
He treated for a foot fracture and then taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick, where he was held in lieu of $2,500 bail.

OLD BRIDGE —Police are searching for a man who apparently attempted to burglarize a Southwood Drive home.
The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. Monday, when the man saw people leave the residence and then approached the doorstep, police said. A girl was still inside the home.
The girl told police she heard the front screen door swing open and heard a knock at the door. The man then opened the unlocked door and said hello to the dog, which was barking inside.
When the man saw the girl emerge, he told her he was in the wrong house and left.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, about 6-feet tall and "rough-looking,'' police said. He was wearing shorts and a red shirt. He drove off in an older model, gray vehicle, possibly a sedan.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Old Bridge Police Department at (732) 721-5600.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WOODBRIDGE —An unidentified intruder entered a Village Drive residence early Friday morning but fled before he could take anything, police said.
The intruder entered through an open kitchen window that had a screen on it, police said. One of the home's occupants woke up and saw the man. She started screaming, and the intruder ran out the front door.
The window screen was not found but several items that had been on the window ledge had fallen outside. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the intruder. Police determined that the man first tried and failed to get in through the sliding doors on the balcony.

Wow! Lots of break-ins lately: 16 in E. Windsor alone. The Plainsboro burglar is a Plainsboro resident, not a "RT-130 traveling burglar." |

The break in occured on Old Cranbury Road, the houses right by the Milstone / bridge on the way to the Crockadeli.
As with the other break in's, easy access to Route 130 there.
So the Rt. 130 Trend Continues.... |
